Mildred & Troy - August 25, 07

I started the day with Mildred just as she was putting on the finishing touches.

We did a few family photos in the garden including Kujo, who was the ring bearer.

We were actually running early but it started to rain on the way, so we hopped into a nearby mall to take a few quick shots.

Minoru Chapel is so cute!

The newlyweds spend a quick moment together just after leaving the chapel.

Next we headed off to Steveston. The clouds were pretty cool and luckily the rain held off.

Their reception was a fun-filled affair at the Delta Town and Country Inn.

Thanks Mildred & Troy - it was our pleasure to work with you on your wedding day. All the best!

Candice & Chris - August 18, 2007

We started the day at Candice's suite at the River Rock where all the girls were getting hair and make up done. Candice's dress looked amazing!

It was a two-piece and required some getting into....

And we are ready to go!

Meanwhile, Susannah was with the guys...

The ceremony was at Hayden Park in Delta. The day had thunderstorms forecast but turned out sunny and warm. Deja was the ring-bearer....

We did shots all over the grounds, the rocks, the stables...

And the country road,

Before we headed off to the beach for some couple shots.

Back to the reception, and some sunset photos.

And, the first dance.

Thank you Candice and Chris - you guys were awesome!

Wendy & Andrew - August 17, 2007

I first met Wendy and Andrew the day before their wedding. All of our communication up until then had been by email or through wedding planner Kerry Reid, as they are based in the States. I was surprised to find myself surrounded by Kiwis as Andrew is from Hawkes Bay and 3 out of the 4 groomsmen were also from New Zealand. Some family and friends had also made the journey over for the wedding.

We started the day at Wendy's hotel room in White Rock. I love getting the detail shots at this point.

Their ceremony was at Morgan Creek Golf Course. Although rain had been forecast, the weather held and the ceremony took place in the gardens. Maori blessings and readings were incorporated into the ceremony which brought a tear to my eye.

Andrew's ring is truly awesome - it has the carvings of his tribe in the design. Very, very special.

We took some photos with the bridal party in the gardens.

Then we had some time at the pier in White Rock to get some shots of the happy couple before heading back to the party.

Canuck + Kiwi = happy

(Susannah caught this moment)

All the best, Wendy and Andrew!

Christine & Marcus - August 13, 2007

Christine & Marcus came from Germany for their Stanley Park wedding with their two boys, Ben & Tom. This was Marcus' 6th visit to Vancouver, and Christine's 3rd.

The day was beautiful, bright, and hot!

We had picked a spot down by Lost Lagoon for their intimate ceremony performed by Karen Ell, and witnessed by a variety of wildlife. I doubled as photographer and witness.

We did some casual portraits and some family photos. Ben & Tom, who usually don't like having their photo taken, really got into it and were even suggesting shots like this one.....

Perhaps having them climb trees had something to do with it...

Thanks for letting me share in your day and perhaps I'll see you next year!

Carey & Darren - August 4, 2007

Carey and Darren were married in the Rose Garden by Horizon's Restaurant on Burnaby Mountain. It was an absolutely stellar day and maybe the hottest day I've worked on yet!

Carey was piped in which was cool. The ceremony was performed by Rev Marilyn Knipp who is very very funny and can really work a crowd!

What a beautiful setting!

The totems were really cool and made for some interesting group shots.

Next we went down the hill to Barnet Marine Park to do some formal.......

......and not so formal shots.

We also stumbled across a really cool structure around the corner. I'm not sure what it was, but it was a lucky find!

Then it was back up the hill to the Campus where we ran into a friend of Carey's who was also getting married.

I absolutely LOVE this candid shot of the brides!

This was my first time up at SFU and I was really excited by the architecture and was looking forward to working in an Arthur Erickson environment. Really nice lines and a place I think you could shoot at in any weather and any season.

Finally, we went on the rooftop for the breath-taking view.

I left Carey and Darren to enjoy their reception at the Diamond Alumni Centre. Thanks guys for letting me be a part of your day.

Have fun in Spain!!!
