The Boys

Yesterday I got a couple new lenses for the coming wedding season and I am super excited about them! They are all prime lenses (fixed focal length, with no zoom so I'll be zooming with my feet), really good for portraits, and fast and sharp in low light.

I took a couple of test shots last night of my boys, Rudi and Whitespot. These guys HATE being photographed so you gotta be quick!

Here's Whitespot.....you can't see, but he really does have a white spot on his chest....

and baby brother Rudi.....

What I really really like about the new lenses is the crisp but shallow depth of field I can get, with just eyes sharp and nothing else.

Yummy!

Carter

Meet Carter - aged about 3 months, but a wee bit of an early arrival, so small for his age.

Of course I had to get a few body bits shots.....

Here's Matt...

And Kerri...

A family photo....

And the little man looking very sophisticated in his argyle sweater...

Modelling is tiring! Nap time!

Stormy Squamish

I can't believe it snowed on Saturday! It was an odd day weather-wise....we took a drive up towards Squamish and stopped at a couple of little places along the way that we've always wanted to check out when driving by.

The first place was Porteau Cove - I'll be going back to camp there for sure! The campsites had amazing views of Howe Sound. I could definitely see myself waking up and drinking coffee on the water's edge. It might have to wait atill the weather warms a bit though - it was COLD!!!

Pretty windy too - in this shot we could see the weather changing before our eyes.

Next stop was Britannia - I've always wanted to take some photos of the rusty old boat and the shack there.

We found a trail and wandered along the coastline for awhile.

I also decided to take a closer look at some of the plants coming out for Spring. The way these little guys captured water droplets was amazing!

A great exploration day of nature in it's larger and small forms.

Stefanie & Mark's Engagement Shoot

Stefanie and Mark came over from the Island and we spent a couple of hours wandering around taking some engagement photos.  I had met Stefanie, a fellow photographer, online on a photography forum but this was the first time to meet in person.  Both Stef and Mark were great fun and I they were such a great couple!

Click here to check out Stef's website.

Recently I found some VERY cool walls near my studio so we started out there.

Then we went down to Crab Park at the bottom of Main St for a few beach/mountain shots with the dogs.....

A bit more fun stuff.....

Mark and Stef are BIG hockey fans so we had to do a couple of shots at GM Place.....

And then found a really cool stairwell to finish off the shoot.  This one's my favourite!

Thanks guys for being so much fun to work with!  I'm totally looking forward to December!

At the beach

So today we finally took advantage of the Springlike weather which keeps coming and going and went to Kits to visit our friends Chris and Efrat and little Emma. We took a walk down to the beach and just enjoyed being outside together.

Here is Emma who has grown immensely since we last saw her. What a sweetheart!

Here's Hercules - a dog we met on our walk. I love his wrinkles!

One thing I really love about Spring is how everything starts to come in pairs....

Then we stumbled across this really fascinating red tree. Can anyone tell me what it is? It's COOL!

What a beautiful day.

What a great afternoon. Chatting with friends, strolling in the sun....aaah. I think Winter may be over.
