Leanne & Mark - June 21, 2009

Leanne and Mark were married at the Vancouver Golf Club.  10-15mm of rain had been forecast but we were all pretty happy to wake up to clear skies that morning.  I started the day with Leanne at her MOHs house at the final stages of hair and make up (by Pamper Me Pretty).

Leanne's details were cool and there are many to choose from so I've picked just a few to blog.

Here are her fabulous shoes....

Look even closer and you will find her "something old, something new".....a penny from this year attached to one heel, and a penny from her birth year attached to the other heel......

Dress detail and handbag....

And here's the lovely Leanne.....

Meanwhile, Susannah was with the guys.  Mark and his men were just chillin'....

How laid back were they?

On to the ceremony and here's Mark's first look at his beautiful bride....

Just married....

We had planned for rain and had chosen the  SFU campus as our place to shoot.  The lines up there are just amazing....

There are also some great colourful spots.  This mural worked well with Leanne's wedding colours....

Love this one....

Too soon (I really could shoot up there all day) it was time to head back to the reception which among many other things involved some really great speeches, laughter, tears and schnapps. Those moments you'll have to wait to see, but for now here is the first dance and our last shot of the evening....

All the best Leanne and Mark - you two are great together and we wish you a long and happy future together.

Trent & Brent - June 15, 2009

I was very privileged to be asked to photograph Trent and Brent's wedding which was a small, intimate gathering of close friends and relatives.  Trent's family traveled from the States to be with him and support him on his wedding day.

We met the guys in their apartment just before the ceremony and we got a few quick touching up shots.

Then it was a short walk through the West End to the Coast Plaza Hotel with some casual photo ops along the way....

I love this one Susannah took as they were walking....

The ceremony site was outside on the Hotel Garden patio and was lovely.  Luckily the sun stayed out for us...

Then we popped across to the Rose Garden in Stanley Park for family photos.  Here's the whole gang.

The guests then went back to the Hotel while we wandered around the Park, stopping at various points along the way.  Here are a few of my favs.....

I could have photographed these two all day!

Congratulations Trent and Brent and best wishes for your future together.

Kate & Josh - June 13, 2009

It's been a busy month for Kate and Josh.  Kate graduated from med school, they moved back from Alberta, and they got married!

I got to Kate's house in time to take pictures of her dress and shoes before she dressed...

Here are a few of detail shots of Kate getting ready.  Doing up the dress....

Kate playing with her engagement ring - on the other hand for the ceremony....

Kate and Josh were married at the Eagle Ridge United Church.  Simply decorated with beautiful sunflowers by Larissa Meade from Bridal Beginnings, it looked great....

Here's Kate and Josh's first moment of being a Mr and Mrs, just after coming back down the aisle....

After the ceremony, we went down to the river to take some family and bridal party shots.  Here are the guys.  Little Colton is so cool!

There was some really nice light coming through the trees....

Here's Kate, looking stunning....

And an intimate shot of the two of them....

I really loved shooting at the river because it is a place Kate and Josh go to often.  I think it's important to have wedding photos in an environment which has personal meaning.  Those photos will bring stronger memories as time goes on.

Kate told me about the yellow flowers here and I thought they were wonderful!

Next we headed out to Whonnock Lake Center for their reception.  We got a few quick shots with the classic limos before they left....

And then had fun on the dock.  Here's a shot of the girls....

And one of our happy couple walking back towards the Center at the end of the shoot....

As they support different hockey teams, they entered their reception to "Hockey Night in Canada" and then had a face off.  Luckily they both won as there were two pucks....

Lots of fun and laughter later, here is a shot from their first dance....

Congratulations Kate and Josh - it was our pleasure working with you and we wish you all the best in your future together!

Marvin & Tasha - June 6, 2009

Marvin and Tasha were married at Cecil Green at UBC.  Tasha was running a wee bit late but took some time out in the bridal room for last minute touch ups and a few quick photos....

And to pause and take a couple of slow breaths....

Meanwhile, Marvin was waiting patiently....

The ceremony got started and just as it did, the blanket of clouds lifted and the sun came out.  Here are a couple of cuties in the procession....

And here's Tasha making her entrance with her Dad......

After the marriage ceremony there was a tea ceremony....

And then some photos in the grounds of Cecil Green....

Next we hopped next door to the Museum of Anthropology for a few shots with the totem poles....

Before heading to the beach.  This next shot is one of my favourite bridal shots EVER!

Then it was off to the Radisson Hotel for an action packed banquet and reception.   There was lots of table toasting....

Marvin lip-synched a love serenade to Tasha which was just hilarious.....

And made a speech in Chinese which had everyone, including his grandmother busting up....

It was really fun evening and a great time was had by all.  We ended our night just as the DJ opened the floor.  Here's our last photo of the night.....

Congratulations Marvin and Tasha and all the best!  Enjoy the Cook Islands and Indonesia and all the yummy food!
