Michelle & Mike - August 23, 08

Michelle and Mike were so much fun to work with.  Their group was full of laughter and everyone had a great day celebrating with them.

Susannah started with the guys getting ready......or trying to.

Each groomsman was given a different set of cufflinks.  Here's one set.

Meanwhile, I was at the River Rock catching up with the girls.  Michele looked gorgeous!

The wedding was at the Holy Rosary Cathedral in Vancouver.  It's a really beautiful church and has a really looong aisle.

Here's Mike at one end.....

And Michelle at the other....

Together....

Outside the church we took a few quick photos including this one.....I really like the lines!

Then we headed of to Coal Harbour for some fun!  These guys were up for anything which was awesome!

Michelle did a little climbing.....

Yes, they actually went into the fountain!  Check out the one about to blow right behind them (camera right).  They got some good cheers from the cafe behind them too.

Here's a candid moment checking out the new rings....

And I LOVE this shot.

Next we were off to the UBC Boathouse which is a really really nice venue with a great view. Lots of fun stuff was planned and there was singing, laughing and one of the coolest first dances I've ever seen!

Too many images great images to choose from, so I'll leave you with this one of Mike on top of the world.

Congratulations Michelle & Mike and thanks for being such fun to work with :)

Paige

Catherine & Dan came in for a maternity session with daughter Taylor at the beginning of July. You can see some of their images here.

It was great to see them again with the newest member of the family, little Paige.

Getting all four family members in one spot proved challenging but we got there in the end.

Congrats on the arrival of Paige - it was lovely to work with you all again!

Whitney & Matt - August 16, 08

Whitney and Matt had a fabulous at-home wedding on Whitney's parents' property in Maple Ridge.  A lot of planning and preparation went into the day and I think Whitney and her Mom could now write a best selling book on event planning. Matt and Whitney's Dad were the home handymen who build the room that housed the reception, the bar and the signage, amongst other things, and together with last minute helpers it was a great family contribution.

Here are some of the details of the wedding.

The invitations....

The dress...or one of them - Whitney wore two.

The signs....

Here's some shots of Whitney getting ready....

Here's Matt seeing his lovely bride for the first time.....

After the ceremony afternoon tea was served in the garden.

Whitney's Mom had been collecting tea sets and crockery for a couple of years and had 200 settings....

Even the sugar cubes were hand-decorated!

Next we went down the road a bit to some nearby barns.  It was hot hot HOT that day so it was a good thing the girls had parasols.  The colours looked awesome too!

Back at the reception to an awesome catered dinner and some swing dancing.  Lots more to come, but for now I'll leave you with a few more details of the day.....

Cupcakes....

And place setting cards....

Congratulations Whitney and Matt!  We enjoyed meeting you and hope you are having a fabulous time in Alaska!

Artina - 6 months old

On Sunday I met Manni, Bahareh and Artina.  Artina is six months old and full of smiles.   Here are a few shots from our session.....

She has the most amazing eyes and eyelashes.....

And great flexibility!

Here's Artina with Bahareh...

And Manni....

In a cute bikini...

And summer fashion.  Love the sunglasses!

And finally, a family shot.....

It was a pleasure to meet you!  Best wishes!

Katrina & Carson - August 9, 08

Katrina & Carson were married in a private residence on Furry Creek Drive - a really fabulous location with an awesome view!

I started my day with the girls getting ready in one of the bedrooms.  Here's how I know Katrina was behind this door....

Here's her dress and great wedding sandals!

Katrina's mother's reaction on seeing her daughter was wicked!

Katrina while getting ready....

I love this candid moment.....nearly a Mrs....

Many guests arrived by bus.....it sounded like they had a great time getting there...

Carson waiting for his bride.....

As Katrina and her Dad come down the aisle.....

The rings.....

We went down to the water for a few shots after the ceremony. Man was the wind strong!  The clouds were fantastic - stormy and dramatic, but luckily the rain held off for us.

Here's Katrina hanging on to her veil.....

The guys.....

And the girls.....

On the way back to the house we stopped at the little cafe building at the junction - I've always wanted to shoot there....

Then it was back to the house for dinner, speeches, fun and laughter....oh, and candy.....

Katrina and Carson's wedding was a great example of an alternative venue wedding - with a great location and event planner Elana from A Sweet Beginning there to co-ordinate things, everything ran smooth as silk.

All the best Katrina and Carson - it really was a spectacular day for a West Coast wedding!
