Shannon & Jason - September 22, 07

On Sept 22, I had the pleasure of photographing Shannon & Jason's wedding at Shannon Falls in Squamish. I met Shannon last year in her role as Wedding Coordinator at Furry Creek Golf and Country Club and have since worked with her several times on weddings there.

Shannon is very very organised and had a tight schedule to follow. She is also very laid back and easy going, so when the limo didn't show up for 45 mins, throwing the whole schedule out, she didn't panic at all and we just went with the flow. So cool and easy to work with!

We did some photos before the ceremony. Here is what happened when Jason saw Shannon for the first time.

Jason is a Volunteer Fire Fighter so we thought it would be fun to do some shots at the Fire Station.

Then Shannon was off to get her hair and make-up done while I did some group shots with the boys and then the girls.

Two elements of Shannon's wardrobe I really loved were her leopard shoes and her cathedral veil.
The ceremony was outside at Shannon Falls under an arbor which Jason built himself.

It seemed we were dodging rain all day and just after the ceremony the downpour started. It passed and we were able to do some shots in the forest and by the Falls.

Their reception was at the Squamish Valley Golf and Country Club and was a riot!

Thanks for being so great to work with Shannon and Jason!

Lillooet Lake

I've been really busy and also a bit sick with a cold, so a little behind in blogging, but wanted to share these images of beautiful Lake Lillooet.

As we were already in the neighbourhood with Tera and James' wedding at Brew Creek Lodge, we decided to take a little much needed R&R and spend a couple of nights up in the Pemberton/Lillooet area; somewhere I'd never been before. We stayed at Lillooet Lake Lodge which is 10km down a logging road, amazingly quiet and right on the edge of the lake.

This is the view from our cabin.

Because we like to try different things and because the scenery is simply fantastic, we thought we'd try a little horseback trek. Here is me on "Taurus" and Susannah on "Folly". We couldn't walk properly for the next few days but it was fun!

If we'd had more time we would have gone up past Lillooet and explored some more, but we'll have to save that for next time.

Tera & James - September 9, 2007

Tera & James had their ceremony and reception at Brew Creek Lodge. The guys and the girls were on opposite sides of the Lodge getting ready.

We did all their photography at Brew Creek which offers a variety of scenery and natural beauty. Tera and James are both outdoor enthusiasts so the Lodge suited them well.

I really like the back lighting from the sun in these....

A few moments alone....

I just LOVED shooting in the Whistler area!

Kieran & Jen - September 8, 2007

Kieran & Jen are fun loving, vibrant women, very much in love and it was our pleasure to work with them on their wedding day.

Here are some images from the day:

Blue and orange is one of my favourite colour combinations - it just pops!

I love the colour and texture of late Summer grass!

The rings....

The first dance....
Good friends....

and Kismet.

Congratulations Kieran and Jen! All the best!

Carrie & Martin - September 2, 2007

100% rain had been forecast for September 2nd in the week leading up to Carrie and Martin's wedding. However things looked hopeful on Friday and Saturday with the sun coming out. Sunday morning and we were all watching the skies....

Carrie and Martin's ceremony was outdoors at the London Heritage Farm in Richmond. The grounds themselves are very nice with a cool barn and some nice flower gardens.

Just across the Road there was some of the nice rugged landscape that I really like, complete with ruined pier.

The rain held off and we got a dramatic BC cloudscape.

We had spotted this field between ceremony and reception venues and had to stop for a quick shot before the rain started.

Carrie and Martin's reception was at the UBC Boat Club which has a West facing view. Luckily just before sunset, the rain eased off and we were able to get this shot.

I am constantly amazed by the wonderful photo opportunities the BC skies produce.

Thanks Carrie and Martin - all the best!

Shannon & Peter - September 1, 07

Shannon and Peter were married at St. Michael's in Burnaby. Here are a couple of shots inside and out.

I loved the pillars!

We headed off to the park to get a few bridal party shots together...

...just the guys...

...and just the girls...

Next we headed off to the Roma Hall for their reception. Shannon and Peter are BIG hockey fans - look who joined in!

and hung out.

Congratulations Shannon and Peter!
