Eva & George - May 27, 2007

Eva and George also came up to Vancouver from Seattle for the American long weekend. They held their ceremony in the Dr Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden which is an amazingly beautiful oasis in Downtown Vancouver, just inside Chinatown.

We started the day at Eva's hotel room which actually had a pillar in the room!

George arrived and had to pass various tests and challenges set by Eva's bridesmaid before being allowed to enter and greet his beautiful bride. George tried to bribe his way in with chocolate and other goodies but the girls remained strong.

The Garden was a wonderful setting for their ceremony. Although the Garden was still open to the public, the Scholar's Courtyard is semi-private and sheltered on all sides.

Afterwards we made full use of the Garden and were even allowed up in the Ting which is usually off-limits.
I just LOVED the combination of nature and architecture and how well every detail and viewpoint had been carefully thought out. I could just keep shooting all day!

Eva and George, it was lovely to meet you both - Congratulations and Best Wishes!

Chad & Sabrina - May 26, 2007

Chad and Sabrina came up to Vancouver from Seattle for their wedding on Saturday. They were married at the Canyon Lookout at the Capilano Suspension Bridge and had their reception across the road at Canyon House.

I met Chad and Sabrina in November, 2006 on one of their wedding planning trips up here. I was struck by how much in love they were, and also by Chad's fantastic sense of humour (his speech on Saturday was great!) and was looking forward to seeing them both again and working with them on their wedding day.

Here are some images of the day:

First we met up with the guys, looking very cool in their kilts and quickly becoming the focal point of tourist attention.

Next we joined the girls over at Canyon House and did some shots in the garden before heading over to the ceremony. Sabrina looked gorgeous!!!!

Earlier the Suspension Bridge had been jampacked, but we managed to clear it for a few minutes to get these shots (many thanks to all who waited patiently for us before crossing). The second bridge shot here is why I like having a second shooter - a different angle and a different perspective. Nice one Susannah!

I LOVE how these two are with each other!

Chad and Sabrina are heading off to New Zealand for their honeymoon and will be spending several days in Auckland, my hometown. I've recommended a few places to visit and look forward to hearing all about their trip when they get back.

Have a great time guys and thanks for letting me be a part of your big day!

Jason & Chaylene - May 12, 2007

Jason & Chaylene were married on May 12th at the Squamish Baptist Church. Their ceremony was performed by Chaylene's Grandfather and was touching and filled with humour.

Their reception followed at the Furry Creek Golf and Country Club which one of my favourite locations - check out the view from the top hole overlooking Howe Sound!!!!!

During our shoot on the golf course, Jason and Chaylene revealed that they had both known right away that they were made for each other. They are living proof of "love at first sight".

It was my pleasure to share in their celebrations and to capture their love on film.

Thanks for looking!

My first post - Tofino Pictures!

So I've been thinking about creating a blog for quite awhile now as a way of sharing photos and experiences. Here are some images taken on a trip to Tofino in January. We had gone there anticipating powerful storms and huge waves, but what we got were sunny skies and awesome sunsets. Either way, it's all good - I really love beaches and think their changing landscapes look great no matter what the weather.

These first 2 images were taken on the way from Victoria to Tofino. We stopped to admire the view of the mountains and lake. The water was so tranquil.

We stayed at Cox's Bay and visited many of the beaches in the Tofino/Ucluelet area. The sunsets were ever-changing and had a amazing range of colours.

This images is actually 5 images mapped together to get a 180 degree panorama. I think it needs to be printed REALLY BIG - it'll probably go 4 or 5 feet long.

The view from our balcony.......

Long Beach is still one of my favourites - it was the first place I went to in Canada (camping) and really encompasses the rugged beauty of the West Coast.

All in all, a fabulous trip and highly recommended - I'd love to go back again!
