Arda

Yesterday I met up with Emre, Jenny and Arda in Vanier Park for a shoot. Arda is 1 year old today - Happy Birthday Arda! We met bright and early before Arda's morning nap and had some fun in the park and on the beach.

Here are a few favourites from the shoot....

Arda has a simply amazing smile!

I love this one - Arda is completely amazed at seeing a seagull about 10 feet away on the beach...

Brinley

It's a girl! I met Heather at her sister Melanie's wedding in May. She was a bridesmaid and carrying Brinley. I was delighted to get an email from Heather asking me to photograph their little one who is now nearly two months old.

Here are a few shots from the session...

Here she is....

Tila & Nels - August 15, 2009

Tila & Nels had there ceremony and reception at Hart House in Burnaby.  Because spending time with their guests was really important to them they decided to do a "first look"  and do their bridal party photos before the ceremony.  I love the "first look" as it's a very special moment between the couple.

Here's Tila, teasing Nels...just a little....

And here is the first look moment....

Tila did look gorgeous, and who would not fall for a woman with so many arms?

Actually this is part of a series of images we have of the girls and guys goofing around down by the lake and having a whole lot of fun. Here are a couple more favs...

These guys were so fun! Here is a "My Space" photos for the girls...

On a more serious side, here is beautiful Tila...

Tila and Nels down on the boardwalk...

And their tattoos...

On to the Hart House, their ceremony was beautiful, from being piped in, to some of the best vows I've heard, to letting balloons go at the end.....

Clearly Tila and Nels are Mario nuts!

Cool dancers too...

And here's our last shot of the night...

Congratulations Tila and Nels - you were fabulous to work with and we wish you all the best!

Jennifer and Howard - August 10, 2009

Where to start with Jen and Howard? Up from the US with family and friends from the UK, US and Vancouver, Jen and Howard had chosen the Sooke Harbour House as the location for their wedding. This place is simply beautiful, with an amazing edible landscape of over 200 edible herbs, flowers, greens and vegetables.  Not to mention the beach views.

We traveled across to the Island on Sunday for Monday's wedding and stayed at the Sooke Harbour Resort and Marina, conveniently just down the road.

In the morning we met up with Jen and Howard (separately) at the Sooke Harbour House.  I hung out with the girls while Susannah was with Howard and his best man.

Here's a couple of detail shots from the morning. Jen had one of my favourite pairs of shoes EVER! They were so silky soft to the touch...

Here's her beautiful dress.....

The first part of the ceremony was the signing of the Ketubah...

Next Howard had to present the Ketubah to Jen and look under her veil...

Then came the marriage ceremony. You wouldn't know it from the photo but it was pouring rain. Jen and Howard decided to go ahead with their outdoor ceremony and totally made the most of each moment.

Afterwards we went down to the beach for some photos.  We borrowed yellow raincoats and boots to help keep us dry.....

These guys love to laugh. This is one of my favourite shots....

Back to the reception.  Heather, Alex and Miles from Good Taste Events in Seattle had done a fabulous job of decorating the marquee tent...

Our couple entered and then mad dancing ensued....

Here's their fabulous "Little House on the Prairie" cake complete with farm animals!

Ring and cup....

And our last shot of the two as our night ended....

All the best Jennifer and Howard - thanks so much for going with the flow!

Sarah & Randy - August 8, 2009

Sarah and Randy were married in Sarah's parents' beautiful backyard in Delta. Susannah started the day with Randy and the guys as they got ready at a nearby hotel.

Meanwhile, I was with the girls.  Sarah is one of the most easy-going brides I've met. She was totally taking care of everyone even though it was her big day. So laid back......and gorgeous too...

Here's Randy seeing Sarah coming down the aisle....

A moment during the ceremony....

Our newlyweds with their bridal party....

We went to a couple of different locations for photos.  Boundary Bay was one of them. I fell in love with this place....

Ok, does Sarah look like a supermodel or what?!

Sarah and Randy did their first dance right at the beginning of the reception so we were able to capture it.  I love the expressions on their faces - so in the moment and so happy!

Congratulations you two! It was such a pleasure working with you! We wish you all the best in your future together.
