Jasmine & Adam - November 8, 08

Jasmine & Adam were married at Whonnock Lake.  It is really beautiful out there and we (I include myself here) were very excited by the venue and the photo ops it has.  However, if you've been victim to the weather these past couple of weeks, you'd know that it's been raining almost constantly. The forecast for Saturday was for 25 mm of rain in the afternoon so we had scouted out alternate locations for photos, but with a 2 pm ceremony, failing light was also a concern.

I started the day with the girls getting ready at their hotel....

Jasmine had two pair of shoes for her day....

Susannah started with Adam and the grooms-people at another hotel.  Here's the man of the day...

Jasmine & Adam must be two of the luckiest people around, because Saturday afternoon got brighter and brighter and by 2 pm we knew we would be able to shoot  outside.  Whonnock Lake did not disappoint, and Jasmine, Adam and the bridal party were total troopers as it was pretty cold out.

I do love adventurous brides and I do love rocks :)
Oh, and isn't the sky totally awesome too!

Right as the sun went down we took a couple of final shots in the forest.  Beautiful!

Here's the first dance.....

They had a "One Love" cake and a live reggae band "Mostly Marley" who were awesome!

Congratulations Jaz & Adam - it was our pleasure to work with you in capturing your day.  All the best for a long and happy life together!

Meredyth & Nathan - August 30, 08

Meredyth & Nathan were married by their Pastor at the garden associated with the Fraserview Village Community Hall.

I started the day with Meredyth as she was getting ready to go to the ceremony. Her day had started with Nathan sending a dozen roses and this note....

Here's Meredyth and her Dad as he saw her for the first time.....

And here's our bride....check out her beautiful eyes!

Dad putting on her necklace....

On to the ceremony where Pastor Bob gives Nathan some last minute advice....

Meredyth coming down the aisle.....

And Nathan looking at his beautiful bride - this is always one of my favourite moments.

After the ceremony we headed back to the Pastor's house to shoot in their fabulous garden.  We found they had brought props, including Nathan's man-present from the guys.....his gun.  This is one of my favourite shots of the day.....

The setting was great and we got some really cool shots....

The girls also came equipped....

We had some fun with Nathan's truck and on the road...

And of course some couple shots....

On to the reception where the evening started with a fabulous choreographed group dance. Nathan and Meredyth have backgrounds in Ukrainian dance and these guys can move!

It was great to meet you both and all the best in your future together!

Whitney & Matt - August 16, 08

Whitney and Matt had a fabulous at-home wedding on Whitney's parents' property in Maple Ridge.  A lot of planning and preparation went into the day and I think Whitney and her Mom could now write a best selling book on event planning. Matt and Whitney's Dad were the home handymen who build the room that housed the reception, the bar and the signage, amongst other things, and together with last minute helpers it was a great family contribution.

Here are some of the details of the wedding.

The invitations....

The dress...or one of them - Whitney wore two.

The signs....

Here's some shots of Whitney getting ready....

Here's Matt seeing his lovely bride for the first time.....

After the ceremony afternoon tea was served in the garden.

Whitney's Mom had been collecting tea sets and crockery for a couple of years and had 200 settings....

Even the sugar cubes were hand-decorated!

Next we went down the road a bit to some nearby barns.  It was hot hot HOT that day so it was a good thing the girls had parasols.  The colours looked awesome too!

Back at the reception to an awesome catered dinner and some swing dancing.  Lots more to come, but for now I'll leave you with a few more details of the day.....

Cupcakes....

And place setting cards....

Congratulations Whitney and Matt!  We enjoyed meeting you and hope you are having a fabulous time in Alaska!
