Nikki & Daxton - August 2, 2009

This year I spent part of my August long weekend with Nikki and Daxton. Based in Ottawa, Nikki wanted to give guests who had travelled here venues in locations with views so she chose the First United Church, just a stone's throw from White Rock Beach, and Horizons Restaurant up on Burnaby Mountain.

I started with Nikki and the girls at her Mom's house in Surrey just in time to take shots of her dress and shoes.  Nikki was quite stoked with her cool shoes which she had picked up in Montreal before she'd even found her dress!

Nikki went for a classic look which totally suited her.  LOVE the veil!

Susannah met up with the guys at White Rock Beach.....

This is the moment just after the kiss when our happy couple have just been declared married.  It's so intimate.....

After the ceremony we went to Crescent Beach for photos.  It was so hot and so packed it was unbelievable.  There were like 100,000 people wandering behind the group during the shoot and the beach behind them was also packed.  These guys were great though - so patient.  

We managed to get some shots on the pier....I love shooting into the sun!

After the beach we drove up to Horizons on Burnaby Mountain.  The totem poles up there are very cool...

After the group had gone we did a few more shots of Nikki and Daxton on their own. This is one of my favs....

We stayed for just the beginning of the reception and then left the group to party the night away.

Jodi & Dave - August 2, 09

Jodi & Dave were married at the First United Church in White Rock.  Susannah and I were instructed by Rev. Peterson to find a spot and stick to it throughout the ceremony without any movement at all, so we chose our positions carefully.

Beautiful rings - the shape and contours of these rings were great - I loved the way the fit together......

Jodi and Dave's reception was held at Hazelmere Golf and Country Club.  It was fun filled and everyone had a great time.

This is the first dance.......I love shooting the first dance.....

Wendy & Andrew - August 17, 2007

I first met Wendy and Andrew the day before their wedding. All of our communication up until then had been by email or through wedding planner Kerry Reid, as they are based in the States. I was surprised to find myself surrounded by Kiwis as Andrew is from Hawkes Bay and 3 out of the 4 groomsmen were also from New Zealand. Some family and friends had also made the journey over for the wedding.

We started the day at Wendy's hotel room in White Rock. I love getting the detail shots at this point.

Their ceremony was at Morgan Creek Golf Course. Although rain had been forecast, the weather held and the ceremony took place in the gardens. Maori blessings and readings were incorporated into the ceremony which brought a tear to my eye.


Andrew's ring is truly awesome - it has the carvings of his tribe in the design. Very, very special.


We took some photos with the bridal party in the gardens.


Then we had some time at the pier in White Rock to get some shots of the happy couple before heading back to the party.

Correne & JF - July 29, 2007

We started the day at Correne's parents house in White Rock.

This container was originally used at Val & Leo's (Correne's parents) wedding to hold their rings. A really nice idea to incorporate it - I love the details that go into the day!

This wedding had some stellar rides! I got to ride in the Buick to the ceremony. Here's a pensive Correne as we arrived.

Correne & JF had a peacock themed wedding out at Hazelmere Golf and Country Club. The weather was unpredictable and so their ceremony was moved indoors in front of the fireplace.

After lunch we jumped in our cool cat cars and went to White Rock to take a few casual group photos on the pier and train tracks.


And have ice cream!


The sun came out creating some awesome skies - love it!

Correne and JF planned their whole day from Quebec with help from Correne's family in Vancouver.
