Karen's Family

I hadn't seen Karen for perhaps two years, so I was thrilled when she called to book some family portraits. Our rainy day plan was to shoot in one of my favourite under cover areas - under the Burrard Bridge, but when I arrived I was horrified to find my shooting area had been turned into carparking for the City.

Karen suggested an alternate at Kits Beach so we moved there.  It was a good choice of location although freeeeeezing cold. We did a few warm up shots and then they were brave enough to take off their hats and coats.....

I love Karen's new look.

Here is Madeleine...

And Eamon...I have lots of him smiling too, but I really like this one...

Just as we were leaving I saw these trees and had to take a few shots. They may be the very last sign of Fall in Vancouver....

It was awesome to reconnect again Karen and to see how your family has grown up.

Jin Family

Meet the Jin family. Dr Bernard Jin is my dentist - you can check his services out at Smiles Unlimited. We were looking for family portraits with some Fall colour so headed up to Burnaby Mountain - it was still quite early for peak colour but the view was stunning and it's always just so pretty up there.

Here are some shots from the session....

Happy Thanksgiving!

So Family Portraits

On Sunday I got to hang out with the So family and do some family portraits. I shot Leslie and Gabe's engagement pictures back in October and will be shooting their wedding in a few weeks, so it was nice to meet Leslie's family.

We went down to McDonald Beach in Richmond and took some shots in the area. It was a hot, hot, hot sunny day and I think summer might have finally arrived - yay!

Here are a few favs....

On the shore of the Fraser River.....

In a really cool park nearby - this park had just been opened and the kids were lovin' it.

It was father's Day on Sunday, so here's Jack with his girls.....

Here's all the girls.....

These red poles were very cool and I have great ideas for Leslie and Gabe's wedding.....
Thanks everyone and I'll see you in July!

Some Christmas Day Portraits

Christmas began with a household accident resulting in 12 hours in VGH emergency on December 23/24, so everyone was a little tired on Christmas Day. Still we were grateful that injuries were recoverable and happy to have people to share the day with.

I managed to get a few shots of Liz and Bill and their family, dogs included. Working with animals is hilarious and trying to get everyone looking in the same direction was a challenge!

This one is the three sisters.

Pet photography can be fun though!

Jeani's family

Jeani's extended family had gathered together from various BC locations and I was called on to do some family portraits both indoors at Jeani's house and outdoors at the nearby school. I think we did all possible combinations of people!

Here are a few indoor shots...

And a couple of outdoor shots...

When family is spread out it's great to take the opportunity to get a few shots with everyone together.
