Karen's Family

I hadn't seen Karen for perhaps two years, so I was thrilled when she called to book some family portraits. Our rainy day plan was to shoot in one of my favourite under cover areas - under the Burrard Bridge, but when I arrived I was horrified to find my shooting area had been turned into carparking for the City.

Karen suggested an alternate at Kits Beach so we moved there.  It was a good choice of location although freeeeeezing cold. We did a few warm up shots and then they were brave enough to take off their hats and coats.....

I love Karen's new look.

Here is Madeleine...

And Eamon...I have lots of him smiling too, but I really like this one...

Just as we were leaving I saw these trees and had to take a few shots. They may be the very last sign of Fall in Vancouver....

It was awesome to reconnect again Karen and to see how your family has grown up.

Jin Family

Meet the Jin family. Dr Bernard Jin is my dentist - you can check his services out at Smiles Unlimited. We were looking for family portraits with some Fall colour so headed up to Burnaby Mountain - it was still quite early for peak colour but the view was stunning and it's always just so pretty up there.

Here are some shots from the session....

Happy Thanksgiving!

Diane, Gregg, Austin and Moraya - year 3

This is the third year I've shot family portraits for Diane and Gregg. Every time Diane calls I can't believe it has been another year. This year they have big news - they are moving to Australia, so they decided to do their shoot at home in the yard.

Ladies and gentlemen...

Good luck with the move to Oz!

Ethan & Family

Ethan's Mom contacted me for a few pictures of her little guy a several weeks ago. We decided to go for some outdoor shots so Ethan could run around and be at his most natural but then it rained. We re-scheduled and met up at trout Lake on Tuesday for the session. The sun was just beating down.

Here are a few favs.....

The Williams Family

Peta, Sascha, Aly, Toby and Zoe came in for a family portrait session which was a Christmas gift from a family member.  Ordinarily I like to do groups this size outside, but Vancouver Winter and even Spring is not always conducive to that.

Here are a few shots from the session.....

Aly and Toby were great sports and did well for the photos....

Zoe gave us a few smiles too...

Here's Peta with Zoe.....

And finally Peta, Sascha and Zoe....

It was lovely to meet you all!

Nicole, Garth & Kaden

Good friends are hard to come by and it's really really hard to say goodbye, but that's what I'm doing today.  Garth and Nicole, with little guy Kaden are flying out to Melbourne, Australia today.

I first met Nicole and Garth when I shot their wedding a couple of years back.  Since then we have become good friends and I have been privileged to also document their relationship and family through maternity photos and photos of baby Kaden (who is just adorable!).

On Thursday Nicole, Garth, Kaden, Susannah and I went out to dinner for the last time. Beforehand we went down to Kits Beach to take a few family shots so they could remember Vancouver.

Here are a few shots for you to travel with....

Kaden loves the willow trees...

Travel safe guys and good luck with the big adventure.  We'll miss you heaps.
