Alix & Nick - September 7, 2009

Alix and Nick hired me from the States for their destination wedding in Vancouver and as they only arrived the day before we met for the very first time at their wedding.

It was our pleasure to photograph their Orthodox wedding at St Sava's on 63rd Ave. Rich in colour and tradition, it was amazing to be a part of. Here are a few of the elements of the ceremony.

The church...

The crowns...

Being led around the table three times...

Married!

Kissing the cross...

After the ceremony we headed to Queen Elizabeth Park for family photos and then some couple shots. It had poured with rain on Sunday but Vancouver put on it's best weather for our visitors...

Alix and Nick joined the group of friends and relatives who had traveled here for the ceremony for a lunch reception at Seasons in the Park. I loved their cake topper...

And their favours - luggage tags!

The newlyweds were departing on an Alaskan Cruise for their honeymoon that afternoon. Here is their ship behind them at Canada Place...

It was our pleasure to meet you both.  Happy Cruising!

Lisa and Jeffrey - August 31, 2009

I met up with Lisa at Pamper Me Pretty Salon in Vancouver....

Before heading to her Mom's house where Lisa was getting dressed....

Jeffrey had gone to a barber for a clean shave...

And here he is...

The ceremony was at St Mary's in Kerrisdale which is a beautiful wooden church with lovely stained glass. Here are a few shots from Lisa and Jeff's ceremony....

Jeff seeing Lisa for the first time...

I love this look....

After the ceremony Jeff and his brother jumped for joy (jk).

We did our photoshoot on campus at UBC where Lisa and Jeffrey studied together...

Then we went to Queen Elizabeth Park - their reception was at Seasons in the Park.

Here is their first dance....

Congratulations Lisa and Jeffrey - all the best for the future and have a great trip too!

Tasha & Marvin's epix - part 2

Tasha and Marvin couldn't decide between Fall or Spring for their engagement session so we did both!  You can see their Fall photos from last October here.

We were really lucky with this week of great warm Spring weather and the cherries were in full blossom in Queen Elizabeth Park.  It was pretty busy, but easy to work around.

Here are some of my favs from the session....

Looking forward to working with you both again soon!

Paskeron - December 6, 2008

"Paskeron" is a combination of Julia and Brett's last names, and is a way they described their much anticipated wedding. Kerry Reid from Fairy Godmother Weddings was onboard for this one and both Kerry and myself were totally looking forward to working with Julia and Brett.

With Christmas just around the corner, it will be a little while until I complete their images, so I'm posting a few more photos than usual.....plus I couldn't decide!

Susannah and I started the day at the Sheraton catching the end of getting ready.

Here's Julia looking gorgeous!

Julia changed in her room and then went back to be with her bridesmaids......

Here is their reaction on seeing her in her dress.....

Due to a nail crisis the girls were running a little behind so Brett and the guys had to wait.....

We had Julia come down the stairs behind Brett.  I think the anticipation just about killed poor Brett....

We took a few quick shots inside....

.....before braving the elements and heading outside.  It was raining and very cold so we headed under Burrard Bridge for some bridal party shots....

It was nearly dark and incredibly cold - the girls were so brave!

And the guys were fantastic in giving up their jackets...

It got dark really quick, but we got some cool shots of Julia and Brett using our new video light. I love the soft moody light it creates....

Then we headed back to the Sheraton to do some Christmas lights shots.  We had to hide from guest waiting for the party bus to take them to the ceremony site, so we had a little fun with the escalators.....

Before getting some shots outside....

Then it was off to Queen Elizabeth Park to the Celebration Pavilion where the lovely Karen Ell conducted a very fun ceremony...

Last stop was the ScotiaBank Dance Centre for the reception.  Hazel from Barwick Designs did a fantastic job of decorating and the room looked awesome!

Brett's surprise for Julia was to have it snow during their first dance.....sweeet!

Julia and Brett celebrated 8 years together on their wedding day.  You guys are super and we wish you many many more years of happiness.

Merry Christmas!
